"Installation seemed to go particularly smoothly. Any snags were discussed and solved without fuss. She later called us to say that she has hit her..."

South Eudon Farm, Eudon George, Bridgnorth, Shropshire

Bridgnorth farmer John Fox, with his Solar PV systems in the foreground at the picturesque South Eudon farm Shropshire.

Farming family John Fox and Sons from South Eudon Farm, near Bridgnorth, Shropshire recently commissioned Salop Energy Commercial to install a 50 kW Suntech solar PV system.

The Fox’s already had an existing 10 Kw system installed on the main grain store at the farm, but wanted to increase the installed capacity to 50 kW.

An additional 10 Kw system was installed by Salop Energy Commercial on the Fox’s machinery barn to provide a further income and clean free electricity.

John Fox explained, "because we have been extremely pleased with the performance of the first PV system we installed last year, (it generated over 900 kWh’rs per kW) and also having the initial system enabled us to gain a better understanding of how well a PV system functions and operates.

“It seemed logical to committ to a larger investment and greater returns from the government feed in tariff scheme.

"We are not terribly large users of electricity here at South Eudon, but by having the Solar PV capacity we now have installed ensures nearly all the electricity we do use will be self generated.

"The return on investment could have been significantly greater had we been a big user of electricity, due to the savings made on buying in costs from the utility company.

"That said the return on investment circa 15.2% Net; completely annihalates any other investment opportunities out there."
